Meet Our Experienced and Knowledgable Staff

Congratulations to the Lone Star's 2009 Austin Music Award Winners!
bobschneider_jc.jpgWe are so pleased and proud to announce the Lone Star faculty members who have made a showing at the Austin Music Awards!  The AMAs, which take place annually during South By Southwest, are a highly regarded Austin institution, providing encouragement to and celebration of some of Austin's finest musicians.  Congratz to Bob Schneider & the Texas Bluegrass Massacre (featuring our very own Rolf Sieker on banjo)  for winning the award for Best Bluegrass Band.  Congratz also to  Future Clouds & Radar (featuring our very own Joshua Zarbo on bass) for placing in both the Rock and Song Of The Year categories, the latter for "Building Havana", which if you haven't heard yet, you need to.

Lone Star In The Press
Check out the March 2008 issue ("the Music issue") of Rare Magazine, available for free in many restaurants, shops, offices, and generally hip locations around town (including the Lone Star lobby).  Inside, you'll find an article called 'Your Very Own Musical Community', complete with artsy photos and an interview with Kurt.  We're really happy with how the article turned out, and we'd love for you to see it!  Keep an eye out for Rare Magazine around town, or you can go to the 'online magazine' page of their website, where you can download the full issue.

Also in the press, Akina Adderley, our resident voice instructor, is featured in an article in the Sunday, September 28, 2008 issue of the Statesman.  The article concerns California transplants to Austin, their housing situations/aspirations, and thier contributions to the community. Check it out if you want to hear about Akina's band and her love of Austin, or see a picture of her dogs.

End Of The Year Recital!
endoftheyearrecital_021.jpgThank you to the many talented and dedicated students (i.e. MUSICIANS) who performed at the first ever Lone Star School of Music Recital!  Thank you also to the audience, full of proud and admiring family and friends, as well as to our brilliant faculty for the work you do with your students.  It was such a fun night - the perfect night to kick off the holiday season - with great performances shared by students of guitar, piano, voice, violin, mandolin, drums, bass, banjo, trumpet and saxophone - you heard right!  Click the links below to get a glimpse of the evening we had!
